The
Radiant Panel Association is hosting a unique national conference and trade
show called
REXperience
this year in the Mohawk
Valley. The event takes
place at the Utica campus Mohawk Valley
Community College, May 29-30.
It will consist of product displays by more than 40 manufacturers, technical
training sessions, tours of local energy technology companies, a golf outing
and live auction.
In
addition, two charity fund raising events are planned to both entertain
attendees and benefit some worthwhile charities:
- On Friday,
May 29, at the Valley View Golf Club, the 1st Annual Radiant Panel Association
Lowe Fund Golf Outing will be held. Proceeds from this event will provide
scholarships and assistance to the next generation of radiant heating
technicians.
- On
Friday evening, following the general meeting, there will be a live auction. Proceeds
from the auction will be split between a local charity, Hope House, and the
RPA. Since its establishment in 1992, Hope House has served over 80,000 hungry
and homeless inner- city people of Utica.
They are currently constructing a new building in which radiant heat will be
installed.
On Saturday May 30 at 10am and 1 pm, the public is invited
to attend free information sessions that will explain the technology and
benefits of radiant panel heating.
Radiant panels can be combined with a wide range of conventional and
renewable energy heat sources to deliver unsurpassed comfort and energy
efficiency.
The history of radiant panel heating, in part,
is traceable to the Mohawk Valley, specifically research conducted at Revere
Copper and Brass Inc. of Rome during the 1940s. Today the technology has
matured, and is used worldwide in all types of buildings.
The
local RPA chapter invites the public to learn how radiant panel heating can be
used in their next building or remodeling project, and meet local radiant heating
professionals. Attendees can also visit the trade show and see products from more
than 40 manufacturers.
